4/21/84: Motley's Crew outslugs Indians, 8-3

Darryl Motley slugged a pair of homers enroute to another victory for his "Crew" as the Royals outslugged the Tribe 8-3 at Municipal.

With the Royals trailing 2-1 in the 5th, 2 outs and 1 on, Motley took Bert Blyeven deep for his first "Home Sweet Home" run giving the Royals a lead they would not relinquish. Motley then slugged a solo shot in the 7th to extend the lead to 4-2 but just missed a 3-run homer in the 8th off Mike Jeffcoat that would have put the game away. Frank White, however, would put the game away with a 2-run shot off Jeffcoat in the 9th to make the final 8-3. Danny Jackson pitched 6-2/3 innings for the win, with Joe Beckwith getting the cheap save.
